Capacity Building in Migration Management in Iraq: Preparation and Implementation of the Training of Trainers for Iraqi Experts in Detection of Fraudulent and Counterfeit Travel Documents | April - July 2007

Project involves in-depth training in document examination designed as training of trainers, for 15 Iraqi experts from Iraqi Ministry of Interior. Its aim is, from a longer-term perspective, creation of a centralised group of experts in travel documents in Iraq. The group will apply acquired expertise and learning methodologies in further trainings of officials responsible for travel documents control in Iraq.


Programme was organised from 15 April to 5 May 2007 and encompassed initial training in methodology of adults' education in Jordan (Amman, 7 days) and it was followed by and intensive training of trainers in travel documents examination which took place in the Czech Republic (Prague and Holešov, 12 days).

The participants of training of trainers are mostly officers of passport and residence departments of the Iraqi Ministry of Interior at airports and border crossing points. The director of Training Centre of the Residential Affairs in Baghdad attended the training as well. All the experts intensified their knowledge of the issue of fraudulent and countrefeit travel documents and the technique for document examination. They already started to use the newly acquired knowledge and expertise in trainings of their colleagues in the whole territory of Iraq.
