Assisted Voluntary Return and Reintegration (AVRR) programme is designed to support migrants who wish to return to their countries of origin voluntarily. This programme aims to ensure a safe, dignified, and sustainable return, as well as successful reintegration into home communities.
The project "Return and Reintegration Assistance to Voluntary Returns of Third-country Nationals 2024-2026" Reg. No CZ.12.01.03/00/23_015/0000034 is co-financed by the European Union through the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund Programme and the budget of the Ministry of the Interior of the Czech Republic.
The current IOM Czechia AVRR project (07/2024 - 4/2026) enables these services to third-country nationals from:
- the Republic of Belarus
- the People's Republic of China
- the Republic of Cuba
- the Islamic Republic of Iran
- the Republic of Mali
- the Republic of the Philippines
- the Russian Federation
- the Republic of Senegal
- the Kingdom of Thailand
- Turkmenistan
- the Republic of Uzbekistan
and who are subject to an administrative deportation order or an order to leave the territory and the territory of the EU Member States according to the departure order. As well as those who are staying in Czechia for work or study purposes and whose stay has been terminated or not extended by the Czech authorities.
(Exceptionally, nationals of other third countries may also be included in the programme in so-called cases of special consideration.)

You can also visit our office in Prague after making an appointment (by telephone or email).
Once you have all the information you need, you can take some time to think about your next step. You can change your mind at any stage of the process. If you decide that voluntary return is the right choice for you, we will assist you throughout the process of getting tickets and necessary travel documents. You will also be given all the information you need about „in-kind“ reintegration assistance you may receive on arrival in your country of origin.
We will meet you at the airport, we’ll have your tickets ready and our team will even help you check-in for your flight.
Accommodation, food and health services could be provided before departure in case of utmost necessity.
Once you land, we can arrange transportation from the airport to your final destination.
If you decide to settle down in your country of origin, we can support you to stand on your own feet by providing „in-kind“ reintegration assistance upon arrival, which may include:
- Accommodation
- Education
- Healthcare services
- Facilities and equipment necessary for the business
- Purchase of livestock animals or other types of support, such as legal counselling and other professional services.

- What is voluntary return?

Voluntary Return is a free service for people thinking about returning to their country of origin. If you decide that this is the right choice for you, we can take care of everything including travel documents, communication with authorities, flight (bus/train) tickets, and assistance at airports.
- Who can apply?

- Can I receive financial support?

Besides the free air and ground transportation tickets, we can provide accommodation, food and health services before departure in case of utmost necessity.
We can also support you with the „in-kind“ reintegration assistance upon arrival at your destination.
- How long does it take?

We will make sure you have time to think about your decision and ensure this is the right choice for you. Once you decide to apply, we can let you know how long the process should take. It mostly depends on your travel documents and your residential status in the Czech Republic. The absence of travel documents may prolong the process.
- Can I change my mind?

We know that choosing to return home is a big decision. Our team are here to help you find out all the information you need before you make your decision. All enquiries are strictly confidential, and you can change your mind whenever you like.
- How much luggage can I take?

We have special agreements with many airlines that include an extra luggage allowance. Every airline has a different condition on the amount of the extra luggage. Once we have confirmed your final travel arrangements, we will let you know the exact amount of luggage you can take with you.
- What is the reintegration grant for?

Have you ever thought about setting up your own business? Do you want to study? Do you have nowhere to return to? We can help you start a business; join an existing business; attend a school or training; rent an apartment or improve your own home. We will help you to put a plan together.
